Privacy Policy.

Last updated · 23 August 2026

Property From Australia respects the privacy of the people who visit, contribute to and interact with our platform.

Property From Australia is operated by Holmesly Pty Ltd. In this Privacy Policy, "Property From Australia", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Holmesly Pty Ltd when operating Property From Australia.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you visit our website, submit material for editorial consideration, provide photography, video or other media, provide contributor or project information, contact us, propose a collaboration, interact with our digital or social channels, or otherwise communicate or engage with Property From Australia.

We aim to manage personal information transparently and in accordance with applicable Australian privacy requirements, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

01Information we may collect

Depending on how you interact with Property From Australia, we may collect personal information including your name, email address, telephone number, business or organisation name, professional role, social media handles, website addresses, and your city, region, state or territory, together with our correspondence with you.

Where you make an editorial submission or a collaboration enquiry, we may also collect information about a property, place, project, business, organisation or person; the names and details of contributors associated with submitted work (including owners, architects, designers, builders, developers, photographers, stylists and other creative contributors); captions and attribution information; photography, video, PDFs, press kits, supporting documents and media folders; image or media rights information; information about the source or permitted use of submitted material; external and social media links; and any other information voluntarily provided to us.

We may also collect technical information when visitors use the website, including IP address, browser type, device information, operating system, approximate location derived from technical information, referring website or source, pages viewed, interaction information, time and date information and security logs.

Files are not uploaded to our website. Where you name files or provide a link to media, the website records the file names and the link you give us; the media itself reaches us through that link or by separate arrangement with you, such as email.

Some technical information may constitute personal information where it identifies, or can reasonably identify, an individual.

02Sensitive information

Property From Australia does not generally seek to collect sensitive information. You should avoid providing sensitive information unless it is genuinely relevant and appropriate to a submission, story or communication and you have an appropriate basis for providing it.

If sensitive information is provided, we will handle it in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the collection.

03How information is collected

We may collect personal information directly from you when you submit material, complete a form, propose a collaboration, tell us about media by naming files or providing a link, provide project or contributor information, communicate by email or otherwise contact us.

We may also receive personal information indirectly, for example from submitters, property owners, businesses, architects, builders, developers, designers, photographers, representatives, agencies, public websites, public social media profiles, media kits, press material, industry sources, professional directories or third-party service providers.

Where someone provides personal information about another person, we expect them to have an appropriate authority, permission or other lawful basis to provide that information.

04Editorial submissions

Property From Australia operates an editorial submission system. People may submit material relating to property, architecture, design, developments, projects, businesses, places, photography, video, people, stories, ideas and other subjects relevant to Property From Australia.

A submission may contain names, contact details, property or project details, business information, file names and links to photography or video held elsewhere, captions, contributor information, credits, rights information, social handles and background information. Where we go on to consider material, photography, video and documents may also reach us by the link you provide or by separate correspondence.

We collect and use this information to receive and assess submissions, research potential stories, verify information, contact submitters and, where appropriate, contributors, verify credits, clarify rights or permissions, request additional information or media, develop editorial material, and decide whether and how material may be published.

Submitting material does not guarantee publication. Property From Australia retains editorial discretion over whether, where and how submitted material may be used or published.

05Publication of selected material

Where material is selected for publication, certain information may become publicly available. Depending on the story or feature, this may include names, professional roles, business names, property names, project names, locations, contributor and photographer credits, social media handles, approved quotations, approved photography and video, and other relevant editorial information.

Selected editorial material may appear across the Property From Australia website, Property From Australia social media channels, digital editorial content, newsletters if introduced, promotional material relating to Property From Australia, and future Property From Australia editorial formats.

Once information is published publicly, it may also be indexed by search engines, cached, shared by third parties, reposted, linked to or archived by services outside our control.

06Information about other people

Submissions often contain information about people other than the submitter, for example owners, architects, builders, developers, designers, photographers, makers, stylists, artists, founders, business representatives and other contributors.

If you provide information about someone else, you should ensure you are authorised or otherwise permitted to provide it.

Property From Australia may contact relevant people where reasonably necessary to verify factual information, confirm attribution and credits, confirm media rights, clarify permissions, request additional information or prepare editorial material.

07How we use personal information

Property From Australia may use personal information to operate the website; administer and assess editorial submissions; conduct editorial research; communicate with submitters and contributors; verify information, attribution and media rights; develop editorial content; publish selected editorial material; respond to enquiries; assess and administer collaborations; operate internal records; improve the website and user experience; analyse website usage; maintain website security and prevent misuse or technical abuse; comply with legal obligations; resolve disputes; and protect our legal rights and those of others.

We will not use personal information for an unrelated purpose where doing so would be contrary to applicable law.

08Editorial independence

Editorial and commercial decisions remain separate. Submitting information, providing material, contacting Property From Australia, proposing a collaboration or participating in a commercial relationship does not guarantee editorial coverage. Editorial selection, presentation and placement remain at the discretion of Property From Australia.

09Email communications and marketing

Property From Australia may use contact details to respond to communications, administer submissions, manage collaborations, provide requested information and communicate about relevant editorial matters.

If newsletters, invitations, updates or promotional communications are introduced, we will use appropriate consent and unsubscribe mechanisms where required. We do not automatically enrol editorial submitters or collaboration contacts in marketing communications merely because they supplied an email address.

Commercial electronic messages will comply with applicable Australian requirements, including identification and unsubscribe obligations where required.

10Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

Property From Australia does not currently use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or third-party analytics on this website.

The Contribute page saves your unfinished submission in your own browser’s local storage, so you can leave the page and return to a partly completed form. That draft stays on your device and is not sent to us unless and until you submit the form. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Our hosting and security providers generate their own technical records, such as connection and security logs, in the course of delivering and protecting the website. We also record limited anti-spam information when a form is submitted, described in the section on service providers below.

If we introduce analytics in future we will update this Privacy Policy first, and where consent is required by applicable law it will be sought before any non-essential tracking technology is activated. You can also control cookies through your browser or available privacy settings.

11Third-party services and links

Property From Australia may link to or integrate with third-party platforms and services, for example Instagram and other social networks, video platforms and infrastructure providers. Our current service providers are listed in the next section. A third-party provider may independently collect and process information in accordance with its own privacy practices. Property From Australia is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party websites or services. You should review relevant third-party privacy information where appropriate.

12Service providers

We engage the following service providers to operate Property From Australia:

Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery, and the database in which website form submissions are stored. Cloudflare also generates its own connection and security records in the course of delivering and protecting the website.

Resend — transactional email. When you make an editorial submission or a collaboration enquiry through the website, the content of that submission is sent to our editorial mailboxes through this service.

Google — our editorial mailboxes are provided through Google Workspace, so submissions and correspondence we receive are stored there. We also load typefaces from Google Fonts on the pages of this website, which discloses your IP address to Google.

unpkg — the Contribute and Collaborate pages load interface libraries from this content delivery network, which discloses your IP address to that service. Other pages of the website do not.

We record limited anti-spam information with each submission: a one-way encoded form of your IP address rather than the address itself, the time the form took to complete, and an identifier used to avoid recording the same submission twice.

We may also engage providers of security, development, communications and professional services. Service providers may process personal information where reasonably necessary to perform services for us, and this section will be updated as our arrangements change.

13Overseas storage and disclosure

Some of the service providers described above are international organisations, and personal information handled through this website may be stored or processed outside Australia.

Cloudflare — the database holding website form submissions is provisioned in Cloudflare’s Oceania region, which covers data centres in Australia and New Zealand. Website delivery is served from Cloudflare’s global network, so requests for pages may be handled outside Australia.

Resend — used to deliver submission notifications to our mailboxes. Resend is a United States company. We have not confirmed the specific country in which it processes submission content, and information sent through this service may be processed outside Australia, including in the United States.

Google — our mailboxes are provided through Google Workspace and our typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Google operates internationally, and information handled through these services may be processed outside Australia.

unpkg — the Contribute and Collaborate pages load interface libraries from this content delivery network, which is served from an international network.

Where we cannot practicably identify the specific country in which a recipient is located, we have said so rather than state a location we have not confirmed. We do not claim that information is stored only in Australia.

Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take steps that are reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, including by relying on the contractual terms and data-protection commitments those providers offer. Australian privacy law may continue to hold us accountable for how an overseas recipient handles information we disclose to them, and we do not seek to exclude that accountability. Overseas recipients may also be subject to foreign laws that could compel disclosure of information.

If you would like more detail about a particular provider before making a submission, contact us at hello@propertyfromaustralia.com.au.

14Security

Property From Australia takes reasonable steps, appropriate to the circumstances, to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, unauthorised modification and unauthorised disclosure.

Security measures may include appropriate technical and organisational controls, access restrictions, authentication, infrastructure safeguards and operational procedures.

No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

15Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for a purpose we are permitted to use it for. Those purposes are: assessing and considering editorial submissions; publishing editorial material and maintaining accurate publication, attribution and permission records; administering collaborations and other legitimate business relationships; maintaining our correspondence records; resolving disputes and protecting legal rights; maintaining the security of the website and preventing misuse or abuse; and meeting obligations under applicable laws.

How long that is depends on what the information is and why we hold it. Records that document what we published, who created it and what permissions we relied on are kept for as long as that publication and those permissions may need to be evidenced. Submissions we do not publish are kept only while they remain relevant to editorial consideration or to a record we are entitled to keep. Anti-spam information collected when a form is submitted is short-lived and is not used to build a profile of anyone.

Submissions set aside by the website’s automatic anti-spam checks are stored separately from the editorial queue and are not sent to our editorial inboxes. They are kept only so that a genuine submission caught by those checks can be found and acted on, and are otherwise handled in the same way as other submission records.

When personal information is no longer reasonably required for any of those purposes, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it, subject to any archival, publication or record-keeping requirements that lawfully or legitimately apply.

Our submission records are reviewed as part of our editorial administration rather than deleted automatically, and correspondence held in our mailboxes is retained separately from the website’s own records. If you would like to know what we hold about you, or would like it removed, sections 16 and 17 explain how to ask.

16Access and correction

You may request access to personal information Property From Australia holds about you, or request correction of information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.

Privacy enquiries
hello@propertyfromaustralia.com.au

We will respond to a request for access or correction within 30 days, subject to applicable legal exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making changes.

17Deletion requests

You may contact Property From Australia to request deletion of personal information where appropriate.

Deletion may not always be possible where information forms part of legitimately published editorial material, is required for legal purposes, is required to document permissions or attribution, is necessary for dispute resolution, or forms part of records we are entitled or required to retain.

Requests concerning published editorial material are considered individually, having regard to privacy, accuracy, editorial integrity, legitimate publishing interests and applicable law.

18Anonymity and pseudonyms

Where practical, you may interact with Property From Australia without identifying yourself, or by using a pseudonym.

Identification may be necessary where we need to properly assess a submission, verify ownership or authority, confirm media rights or attribution, communicate about publication, enter into a collaboration, or respond meaningfully to an enquiry.

19Children and young people

Property From Australia is a general-audience editorial platform and is not specifically designed for children. We do not intentionally seek unnecessary personal information from children.

If personal information concerning a child or young person is provided, additional care should be taken regarding privacy, photography, identification, publication, consent or authority, and safety.

If Property From Australia becomes aware that information concerning a child has been supplied in circumstances requiring additional permission or protection, we may seek further confirmation, limit use, contact the relevant person, decline publication or remove the information where appropriate.

20Data breaches

Property From Australia maintains procedures for responding to suspected privacy and security incidents.

Where applicable, if a data breach is likely to result in serious harm, we will take the steps required by the Australian Notifiable Data Breaches scheme. This may include investigation, containment, remediation, notifying affected individuals, and notifying the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where legally required.

21International users

Property From Australia is based in Australia but may be accessed internationally. Privacy laws in another jurisdiction may apply in particular circumstances. Where an applicable law grants additional rights or obligations, relevant requests will be handled in accordance with those requirements.

22Automated decision-making

Property From Australia does not use automated decision-making to decide what to publish. Editorial submissions are assessed by people.

The website does apply automatic technical checks when a form is submitted, to prevent spam and abuse. These checks may decline a submission, limit how many submissions can be made from one connection in an hour, or set a submission aside for separate review rather than sending it to our editorial inboxes. They rely on technical signals such as how quickly a form was completed, how many submissions have come from the same connection, and whether a hidden field intended only for automated systems has been filled in. They do not assess the merits of a submission and are not used to form a view about a person. If a submission is declined or set aside by one of these checks, you can submit again, or contact us directly at editorial@propertyfromaustralia.com.au and we will accept your submission by email.

If we introduce automated decision-making that uses personal information to make decisions that could significantly affect a person’s rights or interests, we will update this policy to describe the kinds of information used and the kinds of decisions made.

23Privacy complaints

If you believe Property From Australia has mishandled your personal information, please contact us first.

Privacy enquiries
hello@propertyfromaustralia.com.au

Please provide enough information to allow us to understand and investigate the concern. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days.

Where the Privacy Act applies and you remain dissatisfied, you may have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

24Changes to this Privacy Policy

Property From Australia may update this Privacy Policy where the platform, technology, service providers, information-handling practices, legal requirements or regulatory guidance change.

The current version will always display an effective date and a last-updated date. Material changes may be communicated through the website where appropriate.
